There Are No Undecided Super Delegates

DecisionOr at least, there are very few of them.  The majority of undeclared Supers are just that - undeclared.  It doesn't mean they don't have a clear preference.  Keep that in mind when people are talking about the need for the candidates to lobby or not lobby the Supers more often.  Because the truth is, it's really not that necessary.

Well, then why don't they go ahead and declare?

The biggest concern that most of us ordinary Democrats have is that the continuing uncertainty and the continuing waste of resources going into our candidates beating each other over the head is benefitting John McCain.

A trend in polling which is now showing McCain moving into the lead in head-to-head matchups with either Obama or Clinton brings that concern into sharp focus.

I'm an Obama supporter but I've made it clear on my blog that if Hillary is the nominee then I will support her. Unfortunately, I've heard from more and more people (especially from Democrats who are registered as Democrats but are not necessarily active) that they support one candidate but if that candidate is not the nominee then they will either not vote, vote for Nader or even vote for McCain. That kind of talk worries me.

I understand that there will be primaries going on until the first week in June, but I believe that after that it is necessary for the Superdelegates to work to make sure that the nomination is wrapped up as soon as possible.

That's a good question. See my post on 3/19 entitled "Why Do Some Supers Wait to Endorse?" I think you may find some of the points there helpful.

If this is true and pretty much all of the Supers have a stated preference, but haven't actually endorsed yet; is it possible to have a chart of the undeclared delegates, but listing their candidate pref?

It would be great to get a feel for how the rest of the Supers are most likely to unfold.

Admittedly, this particular entry is more of a theory and less of a fact backed-up by any evidence.

Super Delegates and Fellow Democrats!

This election will be won by one Democratic Nominee.

We need to vote and make "BARACK OBAMA" the "Democratic Presidential Nominee.

BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!

SUPER DELEGATES: Please ask Hillary to exit the race.
