Kentucky Preview
Seeing as this weekend marks the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby, figured it might be time to take an early look at the May 20th primary there. Currently, Senator Clinton holds a hefty lead of some 30 points. A lot can happen in the next 20 days between now and that election, but it is still noteworthy.
Because if that margin holds, the Clinton campaign will pick up a sizeable portion of that state's 51 pledged delegates.
Not sure if Kentucky has ever experienced a competitive presidential race during Derby, so it will be interesting to see how presidential campaigning weaves in with this weekend's race days. Will try to post some campaign snippets out of Louisville on Friday.
Dear Mr. Super,
Unrelated to your post... Thank you for doing this blog. This is the first time in my life I have engaged one-on-one with a political person in a discussion of process/policy/politics. Normally you have to go for a political event to get that experience (and unfortunately that just doesn't appeal to me :). Sorry, no offense meant.).
I do computer science for a living so it is really great to see another example of how technology can indeed help democracy. (Off topic)
Thanks again for hosting this blog.

Actually, Kentucky has 51 pledged delegates at stake (plus 8 supers and 1 add-on), not 60.
And let's not forget about Guam, Mr. Super! Their "caucus" (which is really a primary) is this Saturday (May 3), 10am-8pm local time. That translates to 8pm (Friday)-6am (Saturday) Eastern Standard Time. So by the time we all wake up on Saturday, the Gaum caucus will be over.

My prediction? The media is going to have a hard time making this race exciting after next Tuesday. Though, with the Clintons in it, you never know.

Made the correction - thanks, Dan.

Kentucky? Louisville? I think Mr. Super may have outed himself.

Well I don't think he outed himself... I think he likes Horse Racing.

there is a rumor going around that one campaign is trying to (knee cap) another campaign with below the belt dirty politics.

If this is true do the Supers take this into consideration?

I'm a Kentucky voter who submitted a ballot for Obama today. I think Obama will win Metro Louisville but obviously the rest of the state will be a challenge for him.
