A Tribute to Tim Russert, RIP

Tim_russert_hi_2 Tim Russert, the longest running host in the history of Meet the Press on NBC, has died at the age of 58.  I had the chance to meet him twice over the years, once during the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, and again during the Nevada Presidential Debates last January.  Both times he was genuine, very engaging and just one of the nicest, most professional people you'd ever met.  A solid news man.  He will be missed.

Here is a link to Tom Brokaw breaking the news on NBC.

I loved this guy. This actually hits me pretty hard. In my opinion, he was one of the best, if not the best of the modern media.

"If you don’t have time, watch the only true reporter left, Tim Russert. He may have his bias (everybody does) but he keeps it in check the best. He will ask a very tough question to all parties. That seem like attacks, but are usually legitimate questions if we want a strong leader."

My recent "tribute" right here. This is a tragedy on so many levels that I am in a state of shock.

He will be missed.

I loved Tim Russert. So sad, and so young too. With the exception of him leading the charge to get Hillary to drop out (starting when Obama won in SC, tying Clinton 2 contests to 2 contests), he has been spectacular covering the news.

Compared to those dolts like Olberman on MSNBC, when he and Brokaw came on during primary coverage, it was like the professionals joined the news.
